Gracia can terrorise Brighton by starting Leeds’ 5 ft 7 "rocket"

Leeds United will have to employ an airtight gameplan if they are to get anything from today’s Premier League clash with Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Seagulls travel to Elland Road in blistering form and find themselves firmly in contention for the European spots being just seven points off fourth with three games in hand.

Whichever way today’s result goes it will have huge ramifications at both ends of the table, as the Whites are seeking to remove themselves from another relegation battle with Javi Gracia at the helm.

Their most recent loss against Chelsea marked a failed opportunity to capitalise over a struggling outfit, and now they will have to be disciplined and deadly on the break to quell Roberto De Zerbi’s free-flowing outfit.

One such change the Spanish boss could make to bolster his chances is to recall Wilfried Gnonto, as despite his drop-off in form he remains a true maverick capable of the spectacular.

Is Wilfried Gnonto fit to play against Brighton?

Although he only made the bench in their loss to the Blues, Gracia revealed that the decision was tactical rather than a fitness concern. Therefore, it is expected that the Italian boasts a clean bill of health and will be fresh to start today.

This will be a big boost to supporters, who have enjoyed the electric exploits of the 19-year-old this season despite having only scored twice in 12 league games.

Aside from that, he remains a constant creative threat as outlined in his 1.2 key passes per 90. Not only this but the dynamism and trickery he brings make him a threat to any full-back, with former Hibernian striker Tam McManus dubbing him a “pocket rocket”.

The 5 foot 7 speedster was also lauded by journalist Tom Carnduff, who took to Twitter to outline just how deadly an asset he could be:

“Wilfried Gnonto looks an absolute star though. Had such a huge impact since arriving, especially when you consider it might not have happened at that stage of the window.”

Gnonto was also lauded for how he gave his opposite man “nightmares ” on that day too.

He could now revisit that form by once again troubling a visiting team, and with the backing of Elland Road, he is sure to return to his brilliant best. If there was ever a time to reignite his season, today is that day.

"From people around him" – Alasdair Gold shares what he heard on Kane at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is unlikely to make a decision on his future in north London before the end of the current campaign.

How long does Harry Kane have left on his contract?

The 29-year-old is now nearing the final year of his contract in north London which could leave Spurs vulnerable this summer if there are teams interested in the striker.

There is a belief Manchester United are eyeing the England captain as their number one target for the summer with Erik ten Hag leading that pursuit.

Reports earlier in the year had suggested the striker was open to the idea of putting pen to paper on a new deal to extend his stay at his boyhood club.

However, speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has now claimed no decision is likely to be made before the summer on Kane's end of the deal:

(45:10) "Everything I kind of was hearing from people around him a couple of weeks back was more kind of just focus on the now, let's get this done. And then we'll kind of have a look and obviously see what Spurs offer and all that sort of stuff as well."

Could Harry Kane leave Spurs this summer?

Tottenham's recent disappointment in the FA Cup and Champions League did feel like a potential setback in their bid to keep their starman at the club for next season.

Spurs' trophy drought has meant the England captain is still yet to get his hands on a piece of silverware with the north London side.

But there may be serious question marks as to who would be in the market for Kane in the summer given his age and his expected price tag.

Manchester United have been mentioned as a seriously interested party with Bayern Munich also believed to be in the market for the 29-year-old.

However, whether Kane would be willing to move to another country is a massive question and whether he would be keen to uproot and move up north two years on from his proposed move to Manchester City is also up for debate.

And it seems as if Spurs fans could be in for a summer of speculation if Kane does not surprise them by signing a new deal before the end of the summer.

From the player's side of things, waiting until the summer is probably his best option with Spurs by no means a guarantee to qualify for the Champions League next season.

It has to be said this could also be the case of United who only sit two points ahead of Tottenham in the table – albeit with a game in hand – but the clubs are set to play each other next month.

A lot could still unfold in the remaining games of this Premier League campaign and it will be interesting to see how it could affect Kane's future in north London.

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka mocked by Declan Rice for Kim Kardashian call

A number of England fans have been enjoying a video of Declan Rice and Luke Shaw joking with Bukayo Saka after the Arsenal star’s rather surprising recent interaction with Kim Kardashian.

Why did Saka FaceTime with Kim Kardashian?

With the Premier League now set to take a break for the next few weeks, a collection of top players will be heading off to link up with their national teams.

For instance, the Arsenal star as well as Rice and Shaw will be playing for England soon when the Three Lions take on Italy and Ukraine in qualifiers for Euro 2024.

Saka recently arrived at the Three Lions training camp and was met by the Manchester United and West Ham men who took little time in winding their international teammate up.

Kardashian and her family were recently spotted at The Emirates as the Gunners took on and lost to Sporting CP in the Europa League and then took the time to call Saka for a personal message later on.

And so – as seen in footage shared on the official England Twitter page – when the 21-year-old arrived for England duty, he quickly had to deal with a few mocking words from his teammates.

Indeed, Rice joked: “He’s been on FaceTime with Kim Kardashian bruv, he doesn’t want us anymore.”

While Shaw also got in on the act, saying: “He’s with the A-listers.”

Saka took in all in good spirits as he soon went over to greet the pair and some fans might be particularly happy to see him joking around with Rice. After all, the England midfielder has been widely tipped to join Arsenal in the summer and is understood to be a main target for Mikel Arteta.

Regardless of all that, though, Three Lions supporters on Twitter were quick to add their input on the funny interaction. Here are some of the best reactions…

Levy Manager Target "A Really Big Fan" Of Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur's reported managerial target, Julian Nagelsmann, is believed to have grown a fondness for the north London club from the Mauricio Pochettino days.

Do Spurs want to bring in Nagelsmann?

Having now parted ways with Antonio Conte, Spurs could well be keen to bring in a new manager before the end of the season despite the club claiming Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason were to see out the campaign.

And one name which has certainly emerged as a potential option over recent days is that of Nagelsmann after he was released by Bayern Munich.

Spurs are believed to have eyed the young German manager as a potential option in the past but it seems as if Real Madrid could also be an option for him in the summer.

But speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has claimed the 35-year-old had grown a liking for the club during the Pochettino era in north London:

(1:02:10) "I do think there would be an interest there from Nagelsmann. He forged a really strong connection with Spurs, like a real affinity for them during Poch's tenure especially. He saw I think a kindred spirit Poch, became a really big fan of Spurs' style of play and kept a very close eye on Spurs.

"And likewise Spurs kept an eye on him because obviously, his idea was to play attacking football with a real high pressing line, which is very similar to Poch as well."

(1:03:10) And I know Spurs have very much had him high on their list twice. 2019 when Poch went, he was a very strong candidate, but they turned to [Jose] Mourinho.

"And then when Mourinho left, they also really strongly looked at him again, but he was pretty much all tied up with Bayern."

Would Nagelsmann want to join Spurs?

The German is said to be shocked by the sudden exit from his position Bayern so it will be interesting to see whether he would be keen to make an immediate return to football.

However, if Spurs are seriously interested in the 35-year-old, then they may have to start putting in the relevant steps to try and get the wheels turning on this one.

As reports have suggested potential interest coming from Madrid in the summer, it could leave Spurs with a monumental challenge in the summer.

Julian Nagelsmann watches on as Bayern Munich face Mainz in the Bundesliga.

What would be interesting to see is whether Nagelsmann would be keen on making an instant return to football with only 10 games remaining in a league he hasn't managed before.

Having failed with their two short-term managerial options in Conte and Jose Mourinho, it does feel as if Spurs' next move has to be to return to a project manager.

And in this sense, it could be something which may appeal to Nagelsmann who could be offered reassurance by Daniel Levy that he would be offered time to put his stamp on the side.

It has felt like a season to forget in north London, yet Spurs still have Champions League football to play for with 10 games remaining.

Whether the combination of Stellini and Mason will be able to see that over the line or not remains to be seen but a huge summer lies ahead for Spurs.

And if Spurs are to keep Harry Kane at the club for next season, they are likely going to have to convince him with an exciting hire like Nagelsmann.

Aston Villa eyeing Mohammed Salisu move

Aston Villa are thought to be plotting a move for Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu this summer, according to Football Insider.

The Lowdown: Expecting a busy summer

NSWE were willing to hand Unai Emery a ‘huge’ January transfer budget after he took over from Steven Gerrard last year, however, the Spaniard only brought in two players in Alex Moreno and Jhon Duran.

He has improved the current squad, taking them comfortably away from the danger zone after picking up 26 points from his opening 14 Premier League games in charge.

It seems as if there could be plenty of incomings and outgoings in the summer following a relatively quiet window, with chief executive Christian Purslow “expecting an extremely busy summer”.

Ashley Preece has previously said that ‘a new No.9 to partner Ollie Watkins is at the top of Villa’s shopping list this summer’, while also adding that ‘the defence will be strengthened’. It seems as if Emery and co may have identified their defensive target in Salisu.

The Latest: Villa keen

Football Insider shared a transfer update in the last 24 hours regarding Salisu and Villa. They revealed that those at Villa Park are plotting to sign the Southampton defender over the coming months, with Salisu possibly available for £25m.

Premier League rivals Leicester City and Manchester United are also thought to be keen on the 23-year-old, with the report adding that the Saints are bracing themselves for interest.

The Verdict: Shrewd signing?

Salisu arrived at Southampton back in 2020 and has gone on to make 80 appearances for the club, 28 of which have come during the current campaign.

The Ghana international has been a solid performer in what has been a struggling Saints side. Salisu is currently Southampton’s joint second-best performer behind James Ward-Prowse, as per WhoScored, averaging a better match rating than any Villa defender.

He has been hailed as a ‘nasty’ defender in his duels by his old Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl, something which is proven with Salisu making more tackles per 90 than any of his teammates. The centre-back has also averaged a whopping 5.4 clearances per game, more than the likes of Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa.

The Saints man appears to be at the top of his game in England with a career-high €18m Transfermarkt valuation, so if he is unable to help keep his current employers in the top flight, a move to the Midlands could be one to keep an eye on.

Burnley Plotting Move for 20 y/o Forward

Burnley are plotting a move for Ajax forward Sontje Hansen, Football Insider report.

What’s the latest on Burnley and Hansen?

The Clarets have one foot back in the Premier League after an extremely successful first season under Vincent Kompany. The club are currently 11 points clear of second place Sheffield United and 17 clear of third place Middlesbrough after losing just two of their 38 Championship fixtures.

Burnley can seal an immediate return to the top flight over the Easter weekend, and it looks as if Kompany is already planning ahead for the summer transfer window, with news of a new target emerging.

Football Insider shared a story regarding Hansen in the last 24 hours regarding Burnley and Hansen. They revealed that the Clarets are plotting a summer move for Hansen, with Kompany pushing the Burnley board to get a deal over the line as he is keen to add more creativity and goal output to his side.

Who is Hansen?

Hansen is just 20 years of age and has been on the books of Ajax since 2013. He is primarily a right-winger who can play anywhere across the front three and is represented by well-known agency Wasserman, which also looks after five Burnley players.

The Dutch attacker is on course to become a free agent in the summer after making just two appearances for Ajax’s first team. He has impressed in the youth sides, though, making a total of 157 appearances in the academy, scoring 37 times and registering 32 assists, as per Transfermarkt.

Once valued at €6m (£5.3m), Hansen was attracting interest from Manchester City, Juventus, Inter Milan and RB Leipzig back in 2020 but ended up remaining with the Dutch giants.

A move away appears to be a possibility over the coming months, and a switch to Turf Moor could be a wise move by the Claret as the player looks to make an impact at first-team level.

Kompany appears to be a big fan of the forward who stole the show at the U-17 World Cup in 2019 for Holland, winning the Golden Boot at the tournament. Burnley currently have two right-wingers on the books in Manuel Benson and Johann Berg Gudmundsson, with the latter 32 and out of contract next year. Nathan Tella is on loan until the end of the season from Southampton, so perhaps Hansen could come in and provide another versatile option in the final third, possibly alongside Tella should the club target a permanent deal.

£90k-p/w West Ham Man Injured For Weeks

Insider ExWHUEmployee has revealed that West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca could be out injured for a "couple of weeks".

What is the latest West Ham injury news for Gianluca Scamacca?

The 24-year-old returned from the recent international break with Italy with a knee issue that has now seen him absent for the past three Premier League games.

On April 4, manager David Moyes was quoted by football.london as saying the player could be out of action for a short while.

He explained: “The only news that we’ve got is that Gianluca Scamacca’s got two weeks rehabilitation on his knee at the moment, which is going to keep him out for a couple of weeks."

Worryingly, however, this was over a week ago and yet it doesn't sound as though Scamacca had made a great deal of progress.

Indeed, while writing an update on The West Ham Way Patreon page, Ex revealed that he is still not training and so won't be back for some time.

He said: "Gianluca Scamacca has not yet returned to training and it is looking likely that he will not be available for selection for a couple of weeks yet."

Has Scamacca flopped at West Ham?

It certainly hasn't been a great debut season in England for the Italian. For instance, he has just three Premier League goals in 16 outings.

And while fitness issues have hampered his progress, he hasn't played in any of the club's last ten league games despite being fit enough to make the bench for four of those games.

West Ham United striker GianlucaScamacca

Notably, in that run of games as an unused substitute, West Ham were in need of a goal against Aston Villa but Moyes opted against bringing on Scamacca.

The game ended 1-1 and after the game, the manager defended his decision with some criticism aimed at the forward.

He told the press: “We know that his physical data has got to be much better than it is.

“Gianluca has got to get himself back. No manager wants to put out a bad team, you want to put out the players who you think are going to win for you, so you are always looking to put your best team out.

“I think his application is there, we just want the output to be bigger and more, that’s one of things we are looking for more (of)."

Seeing as the Italian earns £90k-p/w, the club will no doubt be hoping he can get fit and start proving his worth in a West Ham shirt soon.

Wolves Can’t Afford To Lose Excellent Molineux Teen

Wolverhampton Wanderers have endured a largely inconsistent season that saw them languish at the bottom of the Premier League, prior to the appointment of the brilliant Julen Lopetegui, who has guided them to 13th position and relative top-flight safety.

The Midlands club has an average age of 26 and has shown far more reliance upon academy products than it has in the previous seasons.

Controversially, last summer the mercurial and talented Morgan Gibbs-White, who had been tipped as the indomitable future of the club, departed for Nottingham Forest in search of more regular minutes.

Since then, the playmaker has cemented himself as one of the Reds’ most important players, and with Wolves lacking a creative spark in midfield, perhaps offering this player more game-time could have propelled them even further up the table.

In Hugo Bueno, Lopetegui possesses another gifted prodigy, who he must continually integrate into the first team to avoid losing in a similar and regrettable circumstance to Gibbs-White.

Hugo-Bueno

Who is Hugo Bueno?

The left-back joined the Wolves youth academy in 2019 and in 49 appearances for the U21s, he registered 15 goal contributions.

His pace, close control, and ball recovery led to his promotion to the first team, and he made his Premier League debut in October 2022, as a late substitute against Forest in a feisty 1-0 victory at Molineux.

Then in his second top-flight outing, caretaker manager Steve Davis decided to start the Spaniard against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Although his side eventually ran out as 2-1 losers, Bueno produced an admirable and mature display. As per Sofascore, the defender recorded three clearances, interceptions, and blocks, as well as 91.7% pass accuracy, one key pass, and the creation of a big chance.

To cap off this impressive performance, the full-back also delivered his first – an inviting delivery for Adama Traore to head home.

As a result, Davis showered the youngster with praise and said:

“I thought he was excellent, didn’t let anyone down. He felt we trusted him, we know him, as a character we know what he’s capable of, and he’s ready. He was ready for that moment and I thought he took it really well.”

In total, Bueno has made appeared 17 times for Wolves in the Premier League and is maturing into an accomplished and well-rounded defender.

The former CD Areosa youth player is brimming with potential and showed himself to be a left-back with a strong offensive will to get forward.

Although fellow full-back Toti Gomes has also stepped up at various moments this season, Wolves will need to monitor Bueno’s minutes and be sure to not allow him to depart in the same unceremonious manner as Gibbs-White.
