Antes do treino aberto à torcida em Itaquera, Fábio Carille concedeu entrevista coletiva ressaltando que, neste domingo, na decisão do Campeonato Paulista, quer um clima de paz e festa no Allianz Parque, diante do Palmeiras, como deve ocorrer nos trabalhos com a presença dos torcedores antes do Dérbi. Mas, em relação ao Corinthians que entrará em campo, o técnico ainda tem dúvidas.

-Os nossos treinos muitas vezes não são só visando o início do jogo. Ia fazer mais uma observação hoje, mas vou fazer amanhã. O treino é fechado, mas vamos soltar uma nota sobre os 11 que iniciarão o jogo. Nossas observações são para um todo, os 90 minutos. Temos uma ideia clara do que temos feito. Usei algo diferente, e amanhã temos a equipe definida – disse o técnico, explicando as situações físicas de Rodriguinho e Jadson.

– O Rodriguinho, sem problema. O Jadson não sei se aguenta o jogo inteiro. Tem que ver como vai ser, se vai ser jogo corrido ou parado como foi no sábado. Se tiver o Jadson 60 ou 70 minutos em uma condição legal, já vai nos ajudar bastante.

No domingo, o Timão precisa reverter a derrota por 1 a 0 na ida, em casa. Para ser campeão no tempo normal, é necessária uma vitória de, ao menos, dois gols de diferença. Caso ocorra um triunfo alvinegro por um gol de vantagem, a definição do campeão será nos pênaltis. Na luta pela taça, assim como o adversário, Carille só pede que o clima seja de paz no decisivo clássico.

– Mais do que tudo isso, é a festa que é proporcionada. E peço que levem a mensagem de festa, de ser bonito, de paz. Vejo mais por esse lado do que qualquer outra coisa. Estou muito feliz de participar desse momento, com uma festa linda hoje. E que o Palmeiras faça uma festa linda amanhã. E, no domingo, que seja uma festa, que vença o melhor, que os jogadores ajudem a arbitragem. Mais do que tudo isso, que transmitam essa festa para o nosso povo.

Ideia de estar cada vez mais próximos aos torcedores, isso é importante. Muitas vezes falam sobre o lado negativo do clássico, falaram muito sobre a briga do Edílson e Paulo Nunes. Temos que mostrar mais as coisas boas do que as ruins. A torcida próxima é um combustível enorme, acrescenta muito na busca pelo título.

Estratégia no Allianz Parque
Em jogos assim, clássico e decisões, toda a vantagem é importante, mas é mínima, um gol de diferença. Não temos que nos atirar. Temos que fazer um jogo inteligente, propor o jogo, tentar empurrar o Palmeiras para procurarmos as melhores alternativas. Nos minutos finais podemos fazer coisas diferentes, mas até então vamos fazer um jogo inteligente.

Ambiente no Corinthians
É maravilhoso nosso ambiente. Acho que o sucesso passa por isso, mais do que treino. É a gestão, o dia a dia, com comissão técnica e diretoria sempre presente. Chegar à final, coisa que todo clube se prepara. Somos privilegiados, estamos felizes por isso. Aconteceu o resultado adverso em casa, mas o campeonato está aberto e a decisão acontece no domingo.

Mais vitórias em Dérbis no Allianz
Sei dos números lá, das nossas vitórias, mas a história agora é outra. No ano passado estávamos na frente, o Palmeiras tinha que se arriscar mais e fizemos um excelente jogo. Agora a proposta é outra, o Palmeiras não precisa se atirar tanto, tem a vantagem, pode pressionar os primeiros minutos, mas 70% do jogo vão esperar nosso erro.

Condição física do time
Essa semana está muito mais tranquila por não ter jogado. Minha preocupação na semana passada foi porque a cada dois dias tinha um jogo. Essa era a grande preocupação, ainda mais tendo que buscar resultados. A semana passada foi mais preocupante que essa. A preparação está boa, todo mundo antenado, estão preparados para um grande jogo no domingo.

Indefinição na escalação
Quando é um trabalho coletivo, na verdade é o conjunto. Tem as minhas ideias, mas o principal é os jogadores comprarem essa ideia. Ano passado definimos um time, e esse ano ainda procuramos um time. Já deixei claro e não tenho problema nenhum em falar sobre isso. Tem situações que funcionam bem em um jogo e, em outro, não, então estamos estudando bastante. Estou muito feliz, completei 100 jogos recentemente, tudo isso é um conjunto, a tranquilidade que a diretoria me dá para trabalhar, com os caras muito próximos. Meus auxiliares me ajudam, abrimos discussões até pesadas algumas vezes, mas é importante para o crescimento. Estou muito feliz, realizado, e cada vez mais convicto dos meus pensamentos.

Ter jogadores vitoriosos entre os titulares
É claro que primeiro, quando montamos um time, é no resultado, pensando na vitória, na estratégia, e depois esses detalhes são importantes de ter jogadores vitoriosos. Na Libertadores em 2012 tinha muitos jogadores vitoriosos no Corinthians. Nesse momento pesa, sim. Tem que saber jogar. A maioria desse grupo soube lidar com pressão no Brasileiro do ano passado, é um time que sabe suportar isso. Temos que ser inteligentes, e nesse momento pode fazer diferença

Mata-mata
Da época de torcedor: semifinal e final é a coisa mais linda. Como profissional: pontos corridos premia o melhor. Contra o Brusque, por exemplo, não tínhamos que ter classificados. Mata-mata não te dá chance de erro. Para o torcedor é legal, mas para o clube com certeza o campeonato de pontos corridos premia o melhor.

The ICC has confirmed the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore as the venue for the India-England World Cup game that was originally supposed to be held in Kolkata. There was no change in the date of the match – it will be held on February 27.”This decision now clarifies and gives us certainty over the fixture,” ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said. “We can now work with our various partners and stakeholders to make sure that the match – along with the rest of the tournament – is all it should be.”In a letter to the BCCI, the ICC also outlined the pending work that had to be done to get Eden Gardens ready for the World Cup. Kolkata was originally allotted three other matches for the tournament, the first of which is on March 15. The ICC said an inspection team will visit Eden Gardens on February 7 to see the progress made before deciding on the fate on those three matches.The BCCI had nominated Bangalore as its preferred venue for the India-England match after the ICC had ruled out Kolkata last week.The India-England fixture will now be the most high profile World Cup game for Bangalore, which hosts four other group games. Only one of those feature the home team, while all of them pit a minnow against a strong side.

In between their journeys through customs, the team found a perfect pitch around the 60-day mark of their tour, as the Ashes were sealed with a pair of thumping victories at Melbourne and Sydney, but thereafter it descended into tedium and acrimony, with Eoin Morgan’s World Cup fate providing the perfect bum note on which to end a peculiar odyssey.When Allan Border’s men regained the Ashes after a four-year hiatus in 1989, they were treated to a tickertape parade through the streets of Sydney, and as for England’s own exploits, the events of 2005 remain engrained on the retinas of fans of a certain age, with open-top buses and packed receptions in Trafalgar Square marking the end of a remarkable summer’s contest.Andrew Strauss was involved then, as he was now, but whereas 100,000 delirious fans had acclaimed the homecoming of the urn six years ago, this time England’s emergence at Heathrow was greeted by a smattering of gawping spectators, and a solitary burst of applause from a man who might conceivably have been taking the mickey, given how listless the team has been during the 6-1 drubbing in the one-dayers.It all felt distinctly unfair, to be honest. “I’m a little bit jaded because I’ve been on a plane for 24 hours,” admitted Strauss, as he faced the media, dressed in his best bib and tucker and with (an oversized) replica urn from the Lord’s gift shop perched on the table in front of him. Waxing about an event that culminated more than a month ago was hard enough in light of the travails that the team had encountered in the interim, but there was something rather absurd about the situation as well, given that the World Cup – of all immense contests – is looming quite so large, so soon.”The nature of international cricket is you always move onto the next thing,” said Strauss. “When we are old and grey we will sit down and look over the footage of that Ashes series, and we’ll still be very proud of what we’ve achieved, and it will go down as one of the highlights, if not the highlight, of our careers. But now is the time to look forward to the World Cup, and if we were to complete the double of the Ashes and the World Cup in space of six months, that really would be the highlight of our careers.”Strauss was half right. Now, in fact, is the time to go into hiding for 72 hours, and suck up as much family time as possible before reconvening on the soulless Bath Road in Hounslow on Saturday, ahead of a ten-hour flight to Dhaka. Although the Prime Minister, David Cameron, had expressed a desire to greet the squad at 10 Downing Street, as Tony Blair had famously done in 2005, all such fripperies are completely off England’s agenda. “I’m not going to go and knock on his door,” joked Strauss, adding that the one person he would most definitely not be speaking to in the coming days is his sidekick, Andy Flower, with whom he has been in daily cahoots since the last week of October.Whether or not England have a realistic chance in the World Cup, the loss of Morgan is a cruel blow – albeit one exacerbated by some unusually lax work from the management and medical team, who allowed him to play on through two ODIs before finally realising that his performances were being hindered by something more serious than bruising. Nevertheless, there was a clear note of frustration in Flower’s typically measured assessment, as he shifted the blame away from a player who had proved willing to push through the pain, and put it instead on an itinerary that allowed such an accident to occur so close to a major event.”We’ve played three-and-a-half months of high intensity cricket, so we will pick up injuries, that’s the nature of the sport,” said Flower. “To have the tour ending just before the World Cup starts doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I think that’s the lesson to be learnt.”There are some positive aspects of England’s current situation. With positive news about the other five injury concerns in the squad, Strauss believed that the chance for rest and recuperation would ensure that they return to action with extra motivation – particularly the frontline bowlers, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann and Tim Bresnan, whose understanding of their roles and ability to work in tandem had been integral to England’s fortunes throughout their run of five ODI series wins in a row.”The atmosphere at a World Cup will be very intoxicating and motivating,” said Strauss. “All the best players in the world will be there, and ultimately only one team will walk away with that World Cup. Of course we would have liked to have won the one-day series as preparation, but a few of our guys haven’t been involved and have had an opportunity to have rest through being injured. They are going to come back into the fold and hopefully add a huge amount of impetus for us moving forward. They should be fit, but they need to find some rhythm pretty quickly, because I believe our attack is a match for anyone in the world.”Once a wide-ranging press conference had been completed, it was time for Strauss to step out into the sunshine, and pose with the urn with his back barely 50 metres from the perimeter fence of Heathrow Airport. The incongruity was impossible to ignore – almost as incongruous, in fact, as his earlier opening statement had been. “Without a doubt this is the best and most successful tour I’ve been on,” he had said, a fact that had rung so emphatically true in Sydney on January 8, but which felt wistfully hollow in London on February 8.All of which begged the ultimate question. What exactly has this past month been all about? Answers on a postcard, please. But make sure it’s addressed to the Sheraton in Dhaka. Because by the end of the week, there will be no-one at home to reply.

A delayed flight, a midnight arrival at their hotel in Colombo and one afternoon training session on Friday might seem like a rushed preparation for Australia’s match against Pakistan on Saturday. In fact, their build-up has been anything but hurried. Ricky Ponting’s men have spent more than a month travelling around India and Sri Lanka, but in between rounds of golf and elephant rides, they’ve hardly got out of second gear on the field.So far, they haven’t needed to, and they enter Saturday’s game unbeaten and with first place in Group A there for the taking. Wins over Zimbabwe and a lacklustre New Zealand were followed a fortnight later by victories against Kenya and Canada. At times their opponents have surprised them with fireworks but overall it has been a slow burn, dampened by the wash-out against Sri Lanka, which was poised to be their first major challenge.Meanwhile, Pakistan have spent a month in Sri Lanka, stumbling once when Ross Taylor took a liking to the short boundaries in Pallekele, but otherwise steering themselves through to the quarter-finals with relative comfort, including a win over the home team. All that this match will determine is who Pakistan and Australia face in their first knockout game, and whether they play it in Colombo, Dhaka or Ahmedabad. But it will also give Ponting an indication of where his men sit.”We really do start to feel that the tournament is kicking off now,” Ponting said. “We’ve had our games along the way and the other big game we had in our pool matches was the game against Sri Lanka, which was washed out, unfortunately. We’ve been really excited about playing this game against Pakistan for quite a while.”During those longer breaks, we’ve trained exceptionally hard and trained very, very well. We just haven’t had the continuity we would have liked with our games. But we got a couple of good results in Bangalore last week. At this stage we’re the only undefeated team in the tournament, which is nice for us, but I think we’ll get a better feel tomorrow at the end of the game for just where we’re at and how well we’re placed in this World Cup.”The Australians will fancy their attack against Pakistan, who have been bowled out for 184 by Canada and 192 by New Zealand in their past three games. But the big challenge will be overcoming a Pakistan bowling group led by Umar Gul, with his swinging yorkers, and the captain Shahid Afridi, who is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament.The last time the teams met in an ODI, Afridi stuck the ball in his mouth. This time, he’ll be looking for bite off the pitch and at the Premadasa, where even Steven Smith was turning the ball sharply before the rain came against Sri Lanka, Afridi could be a handful.”He has been the standout bowler, wickets-wise, in the tournament so far,” Ponting said. “He tends to control the middle of their bowling innings particularly well. He doesn’t go for a lot of runs, either, which is probably the main reason he’s taken the amount of wickets that he has. He builds up pressure, and if he builds up pressure from his end you can guarantee that the guy at the other end is more likely to strike and take wickets as well. That was one of the big things we spoke about this morning, making sure we play him well.”They’ve got a number of match-winning players in their team. If you look through their better-performed player through the tournament so far, you’d look at Afridi and Gul as the two guys who have been their standout players. We know we’re going to have to play those guys well tomorrow if we want to win the game. They’re a dangerous side. They proved that last time they played Sri Lanka here at this venue, how good a side they can be.”Pakistan were also the last team to beat Australia in a World Cup match, at Headingley in 1999, and Ponting’s men have now extended their streak to 34 games without a loss. Making it 35 will be their toughest challenge so far in this tournament, but after a month in second gear, they’ll be pleased to finally put the foot down.

Jogou até o fim, mas, ainda no segundo tempo, relatou ao médico do São Paulo, José Sanchez, que tinha a sensação de que “quebrou o pé esquerdo”. Mas o raio-x realizado pelo zagueiro, em clínica em Fortaleza, logo após a partida, não constatou nenhuma fratura.

Como o jogador ainda relata muitas dores, o Tricolor já programou um exame complementar de ressonância magnética. O jogador começou o processo de recuperação ainda no vestiário do Castelão e o clube informa que ele seguirá fazendo fisioterapia até o retorno da delegação para a capital paulista.

A situação de Rodrigo Caio causou apreensão nos colegas. O jogador desabou no apito final e foi consolado pelos jogadores. Chorando de dor e também pela sensação de que uma fratura eliminaria sua chance de estar na Copa do Mundo, ele conseguiu seguir mancando para os vestiários.

O zagueiro seguiu para um hospital na capital cearense com José Sanchez, mas o médico, ao observar o pé esquerdo do jogador, indicou que não deveria ter fratura. Por isso, o técnico Diego Aguirre e os colegas tratam de tranquilizá-lo.

Com dores, claramente sem estar 100% fisicamente, Rodrigo Caio conseguiu terminar a partida diante do Ceará, pois Diego Aguirre já tinha realizado as três substituições e uma saída do zagueiro deixaria o Tricolor com um a menos. Sua condição de estar em campo já trouxe, primeiramente, alguma tranquilidade.

Ainda não há uma estimativa de um possível tempo de desfalque de Rodrigo Caio. O próximo compromisso do São Paulo será às 16h de domingo, visitando o Fluminense, no Rio de Janeiro, pela terceira rodada do Brasileiro.
